Not every person can do the deep squat properly though, as a large number of videos on the internet of people trying the squat plainly show. There are a few reasons why this may be the case. Having the ability to bend your ankle is important to doing this deep squat, as a 2009 study in Japan showed. Body shapes may also be a factor, and having shorter arms and legs might help people balance better.
